Named for one of the oldest cattle ranches and longest-running guest ranches in Montana, Lazy K Bar straight bourbon whiskey celebrates the heritage and strength of the pioneers that built big sky country. Distilled from a mashbill of 74% corn, 18% rye, and 8% malted barley, our 8-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon is meticulously crafted for a smooth, bold taste at 92 proof. A blend of 8, 9, and 10 year old straight Bourbon aged in #4 “alligator char” barrels. Each bottle is individually branded with the Lazy K Bar iron and wrapped in real leather that is cut and applied by hand.

I got this as a Christmas gift from my daughter-in-law (she’s a keeper) and I had never heard of it before. I did watch Yellowstone so I knew who Rip was as a co founder. Gotta say this one is a surprise. Typically celebrity spirits are a gimmick just cause of the names but this bourbon group did their homework. Right off the bat the nose is smooth and sweet, the first sip is downright silky. Finishes strong but again it’s really smooth at the end. Overall this one is a winner and as soon as it’s gone I’m gonna find me some!!

Very Mellow Bourbon, sweet on the tongue. No throat burn. Would pair well with a mellow cigar, like a Blind Man’s Bluff. Very drinkable and maintains body over a ball.

Excellent flavor and taste. Honestly I have sampled much smoother Bourbon Whiskey (of course a much higher dollar value) over the years, but I definitely recommend Lazy K Bar Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Even bought and another bottle as gift for Christmas for someone.

I gave it away for a Xmas gift and had to wait for his assessment.Needless to say it was a huge success!! He had to taste it right away and do the online research. Unfortunately, since I am now gluten free, I was not able to try it out for myself but he was totally ecstatic! Thanks for making a great product!!

Nice mellow taste

This bottle is just amazing looking, from the leather to the branding to the brass stopper. But the real beauty happens when you open the bottle. This has easily become one of my favorite bourbons. I recently did a tasting at a friends place that has a very large collection of bourbons including several hard to find 20 year bourbons and for me, I would easily forgo all that fluff for this Lazy K Bar bourbon. If you haven't tried it yet, it is a must. I have never had anyone disappointed in this one.

A blend of 8, 9, and 10 year old straight kentucky bourbon aged in #4 alligator char barrels and bottled in Montana. The masculine bottle reflects the rugged nature of the Lazy K Bar ranch itself. Shaped to fit in a saddle bag, the bottle is wrapped in real leather and branded with the cattle brand of Lazy K Bar.

Lazy K Bar Straight Bourbon is a collaborative vision between Cole Hauser, Yellowstone actor with Montana family heritage dating back to 1862, David Leuschen, the owner of Lazy K Bar Ranch and 4th generation Montanan, and Britt West, 25 year beverage alcohol veteran and resident of Livingston.

Tasting Notes

The nose starts with dark barrel notes of caramel and toffee with an aged honey character. Sweet toast and malted grain characteristics are complimented by herbal and spice notes from the rye. The aromatic complexity continues to evolve over time. Dark spices of clove and cinnamon are present along with a hint of apple.

The blend has a rich round mouthfeel with a balanced natural sweetness and finishes with a pleasant warming sensation. The finish leaves you with notes of caramelized oak and malted grain.
